Dysbiosis and Microbiome Restoration

Imbalances in gut bacteria—also known as dysbiosis—are linked not only to uncomfortable symptoms like poor-quality stools, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and heartburn, but also to serious conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis, as well as obesity, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, autism, and certain gastrointestinal cancers.

Dysbiosis can begin as early as in utero, especially if the mother requires antibiotics during pregnancy. Other contributing factors include C-section birth, chemical exposures, formula feeding, chronic stress, concussions, medications (especially antibiotics), pesticide-laden foods, GMOs, and even the natural aging process.

Caring for the microbiome throughout life is essential—not only for healthy aging but also for preventing a wide range of diseases. Fortunately, there are many tools available to support gut health. These include prebiotic fermentable fibers, probiotic bacteria (including those from fermented foods), and postbiotics like ThaenaBiotics, which provides over 10,000 beneficial bacterial byproducts that help restore and support a healthy microbiome.
